Do you need an mlm business pep talk? If so, today’s newsletter is for you.
Yesterday I went golfing with my 15 year old son. His game started out well but after a few bad shots, he began to get frustrated. Soon after, he started an implosion. After 8 holes of golf, he called it a day. We went home. He didn’t talk for most of the rest of the day.
Once he cooled off, I asked him about his experience. I asked:
“Wouldn’t it be great if something good actually came out of all that frustration?”
He agreed. Though what I told him next could be applied to sports, it could also be applied to business as well. Your business.
You Only Get The Problems You Can Handle
I’m a firm believer that you’re only presented with the problems that you can handle. And that those problems are intended to help us learn and grow so that we can handle bigger problems that we’ll see in the future.
As you look at your business now, be confident that you have the skills to overcome these problems.
Learn From Your Setbacks
As John McEnroe said in the quote above, there is a lesson to be learned in every setback. Take the time to see how and why the setback came about. Gain experience from each setback so as to avoid it in the future.
What You Think About Comes About
When you have a setback, you can A) focus on the negative, or B) focus on the positive. Focus on the positive because what you think about comes about. It takes the same amount of energy to focus on the positive as it does the negative. So put your mental energy to good use.
Everyone Likes Praise. It Lifts Us Up.
Everyone likes to be recognized and praised for what we do and accomplish. Unfortunately, many times – especially in business – no one is around to see our accomplishments, nor to give us praise.
As an entrepreneur, you have to be good about positive self-talk and praise. You have to say the things to yourself that will lift you up. Remember, you’re the boss of your business, not the employee. So do what you have to do and say to lift yourself up. No one will do this for you.
Compete Against Yourself
At the end of the day, you can’t control what others do. You can only control what you do. So put the focus on you. Challenge yourself to improve and get better at the things that will propel your business. Once you improve you, your business will also.
Expect to Win
This was my most important advice to my son. It’s my most important advice to you. Expect to win. Expect to succeed in your business.
Expect that you’ll be able to successfully sift and sort thru people to find those people that are interested in your products, service and business.
Expect that you’ll be able to help your new people succeed in their business.
Expect that your commissions checks will grow; that you’ll achieve the goals you set out for yourself and your business.
I raced bicycles for 17 years. I told my son that after each training ride I would ride up my street with my arms raised in the air as if I had just won the biggest race of my life. I did this because I was training my mind. I was training my mind to expect to win.
Now it’s up to you.
Expect to win!
