Todd, you've been around leads a lot. You've worked a lot of network marketing leads. And you and I talked about this earlier, at MLMLeads.com we have a variety of mlm lead types. I like to break the leads down into 2 categories of leads:
Prospects and Suspects.
Prospects are people that we've called in a call center. We've verified that yes they are real people and yes they really are looking to make more money from home. We find that the phone number is a good number to reach them at. We then tell them that we have a number of home-based businesses and that we can have someone that can get back to them with more about how they can make money from home.
That type of lead is called a Pre-Screened MLM Lead. Because that lead has gone through another level of qualification, that lead will provide a distributor more quality conversations for the time spent on the telephone.
Now, I also have Suspects.
Suspects are people like MLM Surveyed Leads or Double Opt Leads. Suspects are people that filled out a form online and hit the submit button. Since we haven't talked to the prospect on the phone, we don't know how serious the person is about making money from home. And the business opportunity seeker lead is priced accordingly so that you can purchase a large volume of leads and sift and sort through those leads to find those that are serious about making money from home.
Todd, let's say you have a new distributor that's gone through their warm market but has never worked cold market MLM leads before. Which of the two lead types would you recommend and why?
I don't quite know how to answer that question. There are 2 sides of the coin there.
If a person is brand new, there is nothing wrong with getting some practice by picking up the phone and talking to people that may be more suspect. They could probably afford to get a larger quantity of those people to get the jitters out of getting on the phone. That would allow them to get on the telephone and have some conversations without worrying too much about their results.
But when it comes to results and being more efficient on the telephone in terms of your use of time, I would definitely have my people buying the Prospects or Pre-Screened Leads instead of the suspects. The suspects are fine practice.
Hey, I've worked single optin leads before back in the day and I produced results out of those people. I used to get over 1,000 leads a month personally, 2,000 leads a month at one time. And I would blow through those leads on the telephone. And every month I would sponsor a couple handfuls of people.
So there are definitely people that can be found in the suspects. You just have to do more sorting through the Double Optin Leads or Surveyed Leads.
