People found out that they could "push" their marketing onto others. So they threw mud up on the wall to see what would stick. And now people are "following" 10s of 1,000s of people on Twitter. I'm of the opinion of Micheal Eisbrener though when it comes to twitter marketing. To me it's like being invited to a party.. only to show up and find that the party is in a Colosseum where everyone is shouting to be heard. I find this especially true when I see tools out there that promise to grow your twitter follower list for you automatically. I hardly think that's a targeted list of people that want my message. It is a targeted list of people that used keywords to follow others, but again, hardly a list of people that want to build a one-to-one relationship.
