When I get an automated call or voiceblast(VB) from a perfect stranger, I usually hang up. However, if I know the caller sending the VB, I will listen.

Like a lot things in life it is not the tool but the implementer that is causing the problems. I believe that both telemarketing and privacy laws permit contact with people with whom you have a relationship with. If you have the relationship, it is a great time saving device to send a VB out as a reminder to a teleseminar, a special offer, etc.

But if you are lazy, hoping to pick low hanging fruit and blow through a large number of prospects, using a VB will do that as well. But do you really want to duplicate laziness and annoying?

It would be far better for you to do the work first, create the relationship, and posture with the prospect, then automate with a VB.

Just my $.02
