With 25 years of experience, I have learned a thing or two about what it takes to successfully contact MLM Leads. Which is why I am writing this article on the “Three Deadly Sins To Avoid When Contacting MLM Leads.”

Grab a Starbucks, or cup of tea, and take some time to read over and analyze what I have written. When you learn to avoid these seven deadly prospecting sins, you will see your business flourish.

The Three Deadly Sins Of Attracting MLM Prospects.

1.  Best Value - This is one of those statements we all have used at one time or another. Yet, when you get right down to it ask yourself this question “how many times has some salesperson told you they have the best value, just for you to find better value elsewhere?”

Value is in the eye of the beholder! So if you are going to make this claim, you had better have the proof to back it up.

If you are going to make a “best value” claim then you need to decide, based on your product or service, exactly what type of “best value” you are providing - Time Value, Money Value, or Service Value. If you are not sure then NEVER use “Best Value” claims.

2. We’re #1 - Yes, I know, you were told by your sponsor and all the propaganda that your company put out that you are #1.

However, your potential business partner or customer is thinking “I’ve heard it all before!” Although history has proven that some network marketing companies are #1 in their category, niche, or industry, the question that you should be asking is - Does your “#1″ benefit the consumer, or just sound good to the field force?

Don’t poison your presentation with inward focused statements like “we’re #1? instead focus on the desires of your prospects and listen to what they really want. Let them know “They Are #1!”

And if you still believe you need to sin and say “we’re #1?, then you had better have social proof to back it up, not just company bought and paid for propaganda.

3.  Most Experienced - Every time I read or hear someone say these words, I ask myself “who cares, what does it matter?

Over the years I have learned that only in a few things does “experience” matter.

When my daughter was 5 and needed a pediatric kidney surgeon, experience mattered. And once when I was charged with “assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill” (remember I am a former Marine and Ex-Bounty Hunter) experience mattered when I hired my criminal defense attorney. \

But in marketing, experience does not even rate in the top 20 things a person looks for in determining if they are going to do business with you.  People care if they can trust you, not about your overall experience.

If you get nothing else out of this post, remember the following sentence.

“People don’t care how much you know, until they know you care.”

A Santa Rosa Beach man is one of 12 people indicted in a vast Internet child porn enterprise that investigators say ran for two years.

“All I can say is that they are worth the download,” wrote Freeman, known in the global porn ring as “Mystikal,” according to court documents. “My thanks to you and all the others that together make this the greatest group of pedos ever to gather in one place.”

The U. S. Attorney’s Office has charged James Freeman, 47, with numerous federal crimes: engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, conspiracy, advertisement of child pornography, transportation of child pornography, receipt of child pornography and obstruction of justice.

Freeman’s user name was “Mystikal,” according to his indictment.

In all, more than 400,000 pictures, video files and other images showing children engaged in sexual behavior were produced, advertised, traded and distributed globally in the online pornography ring, according to U.S. and international authorities. The sting, which started in Australia, also netted accused pornographers in England, Canada and Germany.

Some victims were as young as five years old. Others were preyed upon for innocent characteristics such as wearing their hair in pigtails.The charges were filed after investigators infiltrated the network. By then, the group had already traded more than 400,000 images and videos of child sex abuse, the U.S. Attorney’s Office alleges.

Authorities won’t say how they eventually broke through several layers of encryption, background checks and other security measures the pornographers used to protect their online user group from being accessed. The porn ring was run like a business, FBI executive assistant director J. Stephen Tidwell said Tuesday, with the lewd images used as currency instead of cash.

“This is beyond a quantum exponential leap for us to see folks that have gone to this much trouble to produce this kind of volume of horrific exploitation of children,” Tidwell said in an interview.

So far, authorities have identified and rescued 20 of the children who were exploited, he said, adding: “But with 400,000 (images) we’re going to be at this for years, trying to find the victims.”

FBI executive assistant director J. Stephen Tidwell and Australian investigators first discovered the ring and infiltrated it undercover in January 2006, said Ross Barnett, detective chief superintendent with the Queensland Police Service. Those who gained access to the online forum could only after passing a series of what Tidwell called “various benchmarks and bars to get over to get into their group.”

“From our perspective, it’s definitely the largest and most sophisticated and disciplined group that we have ever seen operating in this environment,” Barnett said.

The men were indicted from towns in 10 states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.

The men are referred to in the indictment by various nicknames, which include “Box of Rocks,” “Crazy Horse,” “Eggplant,” “RoadKill” and “Pickleman,” reports CBS News correspondent Bob Orr. The indictment was unsealed Friday as the FBI started making arrests.

In one example cited in the indictment, Raymond Roy - known as “Nimo” - posted videos of Thai children “to give everyone something to do for an afternoon.”

“This one may offend here, so a word of caution, these girls are heavily drugged,” Roy wrote on July 10, 2007, according to the court documents. “Not much action to speak of, the girls are (sic) to (expletive deleted) up to move, or resist. Three girls, the first one being the youngest, around 8 or 9 yo.”

“Yo” stands for “years old.”

The 12 men who were charged with engaging in a child exploitation enterprise; illegally posting notices seeking to receive, exchange and distribute child porn across state lines; and obstructing of justice. Several also were charged with producing the pornography - meaning they had contact with the children who were exploited, Tidwell said.

The investigation, which is continuing, is the latest product of the FBI’s “Innocent Images” task force that stemmed from a 1993 child pornography case. The task force has arrested more than 9,400 suspects since 2004 and is made up of international investigators working in the United States from an FBI command center in suburban Maryland.

Noting the sophisticated process the porn ring used to bar police, Tidwell compared the growing number of child pornography crimes to that of cocaine dealers, terrorists and the Mafia.

“If they had good operational security, that’s a bad thing for us,” Tidwell said. “When you’ve got that, you’ve got a real challenge for law enforcement.”

MLM Lead Generation Sucks! This seems to be the mantra for some of the most successful MLM Leaders in the last 10 years. Yet, when you dig deeper into their backgrounds you find some very interesting facts.

It reminds me of Governor Spitzer of New York. When he was the Attorney General of the state, he seemed to have one kind of message, then when he became the Governor, he decided that abiding by the ethics message he had ran on did not apply.

Which is what so many of the biggest names in MLM are doing today when they say MLM Lead Generation Sucks.

By now you may be asking, just how does Troy know these folks are preaching a different message today, than they were when they were in their prime building stages? Which is a fair question, and here is the answer.

I supported, trained, and sold leads to them and their downlines for the last 8 years. And in at least one case I was a partner with him in an MLM lead company.

S o what is it that causes a person to live by one message, and then change down the road? Could it be the fact that the money today is coming from a different source, than when they promoted lead generation? I say yes! In 99.9% of the time the reason a person’s message changes is because they are now earning their income from a different kind of marketing system, or funded proposal and in order to market their personal funded proposal, or that of a join venture they have to change their marketing message.

There is a lost Art in MLM lead generation that when applied correctly can send your website traffic through the roof. It’s call Postcard Marketing.

I have been running lead generation companies since 2000, and at one time ran the world’s largest lead generation company to the network marketing profession in all four major marketing channels; T.V., Radio, Direct Mail and the Internet. Until 2001 only 50% of our marketing was done online, the other 50% was done through direct marketing using postcards, newspaper and magazine ads, and custom sales letters.

However, when the dot.com bust took place it became cheaper to advertise on the net than it did to send direct mail. Now fast forward 8 years and times have changed. The net is flooded with lead capture pages, banner ads, pop-up and pop-under ads, and email has gone nuts.

Which brings me to the topic of this post!

With the modern network marketer doing 85% of their business on the net, and the other 15% doing their via the telephone, you have an opportunity to beat your competition and take the top stops in your primary companies by using some old fashion direct marketing.

There are two basic methods of direct marketing that will always drive consistent responses – Sales letters and Postcards.

In this post let’s focus on Postcards!

Think about it for a second. You have bought some MLM Leads, you have called them and emailed them. Some have responded, but because your time is limited you have not contacted all of your leads and now they are 30 to 90 days old.
Postcards can be a fantastic way to turn these aged MLM leads into fresh responsive MLM prospects.

A solid postcard, created with a powerful headline, will usually be read in full by 3 to 5 people before it ever reaches the intended MLM Lead. Now that does not happen with email marketing!

As a matter of act our case studies show that 79% of people skimming their emails are checking their inboxes with their finger on the delete button. They are not reading the email there are viewing the “from” line to see if they know who you are. If they don’t DELETE!

Back in 1983 when I signed my first distributor agreement Postcard marketing was the main marketing method we used. It was the hottest way to create fresh MLM prospects for our business. I would personally receive 5 to 7 postcards weekly. It went on like this until the end of the 90’s when email marketing started taking root.

Today just a handful of old timers are still using postcards to drive traffic to their website!
